About the performance

The show was inspired by the life and scientific work of a Russian mathematician Grigori Perelman. Upon working on this project we asked ourselves: what is wisdom?

Where to look for it? A wise man is… who? Is Perelman a wise man and therefore a happy one, a happier one? The most famous work by Perelman is the proof for Poincaré conjecture, which refers to the shape of the Universe and has had a great impact on the research about its beginnings. His one important achievement in the field of topology is the proof for the so-called soul conjecture. Grigori Perelman is undoubtedly one of the greatest minds of our times. At the same time, his lifestyle – avoiding the fame and cutting off from the temporal things – awakens our need of going back to the most important questions concerning the human position in the Universe, the limitations to our perception.
